Well I didn’t win, but I did much better than I thought I would. Not only that, I was honored to represent all the people that donated money to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through sponsoring me! In total, I raised $2085! All of the other fighters, combined, raised $175. =) That felt good and the society was super happy and gave me a few items of recognition, including a t-shirt signed by all the people that run the LLS.
Thanks again to everyone that supported me in this effort.
Now, camping season is over, so it’s time to move on to winter activities. We have a DnD campaign planned, birthdays, and holidays. Mathew is about to turn 11 and I’ve noticed a huge change in his personality. He is now walking to school by himself and the other day he confronted us with “I know Santa isn’t real.” We of course explained to him all the details of what we do, and why we do it. In the end he understands that the “spirit” of Santa lives on and is very much real. It’s all about giving to others without expecting anything return. He understood and will continue to help us keep this feeling alive with Ally.
